Netra Tarpanam

Netra Tarpanam (also called Tarpana or Netra Poshana) is an Ayurvedic eye-nourishing therapy.

In this treatment, the practitioner creates a soft dough dam around the eyes and pours warm, medicated ghee (clarified butter) or herbal oil into the eye socket, bathing the eyes for 15–30 minutes. The patient relaxes with eyes closed while the natural oils penetrate the ocular tissues. Afterwards, the eyes are gently cleaned of the oil.This soothing treatment provides relief from eye strain, redness and dryness
